Who are we?
Ruth & Richard Chamberlain ~ ‘live aboard’ boaters since 2009
Established in 2010 and originally purely a gift shop in the bow of our old butty boat Echoes, we travelled the canal system, during the warmer months selling Ruth’s hand painted traditional ‘Roses & Castles’ canal art giftwares.
2015, we began selling small amounts of prepacked solid fuels during the winter whilst the gift shop was packed away.
Demand grew, until the summer of 2017, when the opportunity arose to buy historic Admiral Class narrowboats Mountbatten & Jellicoe.
Today, we operate them as a working pair selling fuels and running a gift shop from butty boat Jellicoe. We mainly cover the Llangollen and Shropshire Union Canals.
We utilise the canal network to carry goods for other companies, whilst still maintaining a regular fuel delivery service up and down the canals.
Our summer sees us travelling to various prebooked canal festivals, throughout the canal system.
We have a commercial mooring at Burland Wharf , Burland at the bottom of the Llangollen Canal, bridge 6, so….
Come and see us if you are in the area!
Update! ~ We are now the proud custodians of Admiral Class narrowboats Lindsay and Keppel, being the sister pair of boats to our beloved Mountbatten and Jellicoe, all built during the end of 1959, beginning of 1960
